Privacy

Last updated: July 26, 2026

This page explains what happens to information when you visit Surrendering to the River or share a reflection. We have tried to write it in plain language, because a page about privacy should not itself be confusing.

Surrendering to the River is operated by Contact Point Associates LLC.

Visiting the Site

Browsing this site does not require an account, login, or information submitted directly to us. We do not use our own analytics or tracking scripts, and we do not place advertising cookies.

The site is hosted by InMotion Hosting. Like most hosting providers, InMotion Hosting may automatically receive technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, and access times. That information is handled according to InMotion Hosting's privacy policy.

The site's typography loads through Google Fonts. This means your browser makes a request to Google's servers to display the fonts. That request may include your IP address and other standard technical information and is governed by Google's privacy policy.

Sharing a Reflection

When you choose "Leave a Reflection," you are taken to a separate form hosted by Jotform.

The form does not ask for your name or email address, and you do not need to create an account. It asks only for a theme and the words you choose to share.

Please do not include names, locations, medical-record information, or other details that could identify you or another person.

Jotform may automatically collect technical information as part of operating the form, including an IP address, browser or device information, timestamps, and usage information. This information is handled according to Jotform's privacy policy.

Submissions that we retain are transferred to a private Airtable base for review and recordkeeping. Airtable stores this information as a service provider under Airtable's privacy policy.

Access to the Airtable base is currently limited to Barbara Bouchet as the site administrator.

How Reflections Are Used

Submitted reflections are used only to:

Not every submitted reflection will be published.

We do not use reflections for marketing. We do not sell them or provide them to advertisers, researchers, CoachMyVibe, or other Contact Point Associates programs.

What Gets Published

Approved reflections are published without a name, email address, submission date, or other intentionally identifying information.

We review each reflection before publication and may remove identifying details. However, we cannot guarantee that we will recognize every detail that could identify someone, especially when a reflection describes a distinctive event, place, relationship, or circumstance.

The safest way to remain unidentifiable is not to include identifying information in what you write.

How Long Reflections Are Kept

Copies deleted from our active records may remain temporarily in service-provider backups according to Jotform's or Airtable's own retention practices.

Requests About a Reflection

Because reflections are submitted without names or email addresses, we generally cannot determine who submitted a particular reflection or independently verify its authorship.

If you believe a published reflection contains identifying information about you, contact us and include the exact or nearly exact wording. We will review the concern, but we may be unable to act when we cannot reasonably locate the reflection or verify the request.

External Links

The site may link to outside organizations, resources, and services. We do not control their privacy practices, security, content, or availability. Please review an external site's policies before providing personal information.

Changes to This Page

If our practices change meaningfully, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
